Palestinian stabbed in Hebron Hills in suspected 'price tag' attack
Mahmoud Awad, in his twenties, was taken to the hospital with knife wounds to the chest from attack suspected of being motivated by Jewish ultra-nationalism.
I'm completely disgusted.
I wonder if these attackers, on both sides, would commit these atrocities if they were secular or do they just use religion as an excuse to justify their actions.
A point to recognize is that terror by Palestinians is not an existential threat to Israel's existence and terror from Israeli's will not prevent the creation of a Palestinian state.

Palestinian Response to the Baby Killer
The Israeli government and people often demand that the Palestinians condemn violence/murder/terror. So after the brutal killing of a baby in its crib, and 2 siblings and parents I thought I would look at how a Palestinian paper reported on the event.
Here is the official Palestinian response regarding the person who looked at a baby in its crib and killed the baby, 2 of the baby's siblings and their parents:
“Yes, in light of what happened last night in Itamar settlement in which an infant, two children and their parents were killed, we retreat what we always said about the violence being commented also against our people, we reject this violence and condemned it.” Fayyad told reporters.

And even this is buried underneath the headlines of "2 (palestinian) civilians injured by Israeli troops and settlers. And buried deep in the article does it even mention that the 2 (adult) civilians were lightly injured and treated when the army was hunting for the baby murderer.
Perhaps if the Palestinian government and the Palestinian people were disgusted and outraged by one of their own killing a baby and family they would have done the normal thing, which is find the murder and bring him to justice. Instead they protect this piece of filth; they protect him by comparing baby killing to violence done against them, as if their is equivalency.
Even worse than that, there is no equivalency in their reporting. They create the impression that lightly injuring 2 adults while searching for this killer is worse than than killing a baby in its crib and family.
Have all Palestinians committed this horrific action? No. But the Palestinian culture, the Palestinian government and the Palestinian people create the impression that they take pride in killing babies.
How racist are non-muslims, non-arabs, to accept this behavior and attitude, as if these people can't behave any differently. After all, they are Arabs, they are Muslim, what else can you expect from them?
Compare the Palestinian reaction to baby murder, to child murder, to sleeping family murder, to the almost wholesale and complete shock and condemnation when the rare event occurs when an Israeli killed Palestinian adults. But after all, that is when a Jew does something wrong, can you expect any less then Jews in shock and horror that a Jew would do something horrible?

Why Terrorism Works on Liberals
Sun Tzu, 2000+ years ago, wrote "one man willing to die can inflict terror on a thousand."
So terrorism is nothing new, or as King Solomon said, there is nothing new under the sun."
Liberalism's ideals typically are presented as emotional arguments: people need health care, people need, people deserve, the rich have, equality, equanimity.
And conversely, Conservative views are typically presented as overly dry and unfeeling, a desire to relive a glorified past that never actually existed.
Terrorism works on Liberals because it affects them emotionally. Humans have instincts. We have the instinct for survival. Our instinct drives us to form social groups and norms. Living in a group increases one's chance of survival. One of our most cherished social norms is that we don't kill other civilians.
A suicide bomber goes against the instinct for survival and our social compact. The act of terrorism is a deeply traumatic and powerfully emotional act.
A liberal, who has trained their mind to filter all events and decisions through the logic of emotional need, responds to powerful events with agreement.
People cry that they need and the liberal agrees and attempts to pass laws to give.
People cry that they need and the conservative says, maybe, and reviews the data and how it affects the whole group and their rarefied view of the fake past.
A liberal sees an act of terror and Feels that if someone is committed to such drastic action, then they must deserve to succeed. Or at the very least, such a counterintuitive act, such a powerful act as terror, demands that their cause be somewhat just and worth deep consideration.
Sympathy is not a major natural instinct of the individual. Sympathy is a social norm. So the liberal is not affected by the suffering of the victim, rather the liberal is only affected by the emotionally charged act of counter-instinctive violence.
Liberalism that continues to be based upon reactions to emotional needs is the luxury of selfish needy minds and ultimately ends in disaster for everyone who is unlucky enough to be touched by its members.

A New Day in Israel?
What a terribly sad reality.
On the other hand, it is better than not.
The question is, now that the Palestinians are no longer resorting to these terror tactics, will it lead to a resumption of peace talks?
For many years I have heard Israelis and others beg the Palestinians to stop using suicide bombers. They pleaded and demanded and they swore that if the Palestinians were not resorting to such tactics the Israelis would be able to make great concessions for peace.
So let's see what happens.
On the other hand, it makes no difference if they tried to use suicide bombers and were simply unsuccessful. The article does not reveal whether or not suicide bombings were attempted and thwarted.
