Sexism in Circumcision

In my many conversations with people, esp. Jews, on the topic of circumcision, the argument for the mutilation of genitalia is specifically a male dominated issue.

Shouldn't Jews be at the forefront of protecting the rights of parents to preform female circumcision in their religion's desired format?

Why do Jews shy away from other people's rights as parents to mutilate (for god) their daughter's hoo-ha?

Hi The Way,

I've spent the past hour reading your blog and how you came to leave Orthodoxy. I just want to say, as someone who was once in a cult, that I understand how hard it is to leave something that you've believed for a long time. I'm sure it was way harder for you, though. I was only in the cult a year!

I really enjoy reading all that you've written, and I will definitely come back later and read the rest. I think it's so wonderful when a person can truly realize that the only thing you can trust in this world is your own inner compass, and if you're lucky, your fellow human beings.

Regarding circumcision: I'm glad you're investigating, and speaking up.

Here are some really interesting resources, written or produced from a Jewish perspective
